Welcome...

Welcome to Laveen Elementary School, proud home of the Hawks. We're a pre-kindergarten and K-8 school in The Valley of The Sun. We are located in the Phoenix Metropolitan area; specifically in the extremely fast growing southwest portion of Phoenix. We strive hard to meet goals and education standards, and work hard to improve our skills in reading, writing, and math. With just over 700 students total, our moderate-sized school and small class sizes encourage learning and exploration. We take great responsibility to teach your students the best we have to offer every day.

Our thoughtful and caring teachers know the potential of every boy and girl. We'll take good care of your children and prepare their minds. Please spend a few moments in this site to stay familiar with the school, its calendar and events, helpful links, or anything else that interests you. Enjoy your browse and please come back often!

A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to announce Laveen Elementary School earned a Performing Plus achievement profile for the first time in its history! In addition, every grade level and every content area tested experienced growth.

During the 2009-10 school year we are taking the necessary steps to continue our growth. We adopted Spalding in kindergarten through third grade and before, during, and after strategies in fourth through eighth grade. By adopting the above mentioned strategies, we hope to increase student engagement and increase reading scores at every grade level.

Another focus on our campus this year is to create an absence of threat. Our teachers will facilitate community circles or team building activities on a daily basis in every classroom. These are supported by daily celebrations of students modeling the six pillars of Character Counts.

As you can see, we are very busy at Laveen Elementary School. We need your help if we want to continue our success. You can help by doing the following:

  • Make sure your son or daughter comes to school every day.
  • Remind your son or daughter to do their personal best every day.
  • Reinforce the six pillars of Character Counts (Caring, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Respect, Fairness, and Citizenship).
  • Create a routine at home where students can do their homework (every grade level will assign homework).

Sincerely,

Joe Roselle, Principal
